LITTLE HAPPY THINGS :)

Small pebbles, smaller  things…
It’s a small world with smaller beginnings.
Big thoughts & bigger hopes…
Waiting for brighter & colourful springs.
We wish to live some more…
Some just to see a new flower bloom.
Some prepare to say goodbyes…
And just drive away from the gloom.
All I wish is to be happy…
And make some one smile everyday…
I wish to be like a feather so merry & light..
I wish that I spread some love today!!

There are many things happening around us, with us, to us, because of us.
Some good, some bad, some happy, some sad.
Many-a-times we experience each & every emotion in one single day....

You really took efforts to look your best and you see someone else looking better... JEALOUSY!!
Your boss appreciates your hard work over your colleagues... PRIDE!!
You stand up to an eve teaser... COURAGE!!
You go out of your way to make your best friend’s birthday special...simply  JOY of giving!!
You take out time out of your busy schedule just to meet up & have a few laughs with your friends... sheer HAPPINESS!!
Standing on the foot board of the train, a cool breeze blowing, listening to your favorite song….. PEACE!!
AND MANY MORE....!!!

Nearly everyone of us have had experiences like when we are  alone and laugh out loud ruminating a joke which had occurred ages ago & like when we have enjoyed even the silliest sights!
One of my many such experiences are the ones connected to the “Ladies Special”!
I especially enjoy the sight of guys running to catch the train & getting confused to see females in each & every compartment & their faces when they finally realize that it’s a ladies special & their efforts were futile... :P
I really enjoy those...  “oh-so-what- hota-hai-kabhi-kabhi” expressions.
Some faces just spell “w**   t**   f***” ;O!!

We often forget to acknowledge the small things happening in our lives that bring smiles to our faces...
It’s always the bigger things that occupy the better part of our brain & heart.
Our life would be so much merrier if we just paid attention to smaller things and kept the bigger ones for later when we have the time, energy & willingness to cope up with them….

It's much similar to the way most of us (including me) plan our studies- Lets try & boost up our confidence levels by first getting over with the smaller, simpler chapters and we will somehow, magically, manage the few bigger ones later :D
And we do get through the exams even if we skip some impossibly difficult chapter… we always do! That’s the “Law of Exams”!! :D

I think that it’s the same with our Lives…Its our choice…

Long term planning… worrying whether you will ever find your true love…working out your finances…..looking good at a party…..planning a dinner or get together… holding a charity event…. And many other issues to waste your entire beautiful present day for things which are so far away…
OR

To fuss & worry about your unruly hair…smile when u see someone cute…have a laugh at your own madness …thank god for the sunshine when u r feeling cold…. Enjoy the lemonade on a sunny day…just meet up without a plan & gorge on junk food…A pat on your back when you get an answer right…. Love n enjoy the smaller things…

The bigger problems get solved on their own & the happiness grows happier…!

Enjoy the little things in life…for one day you may look back & realize they were the big things!

Whatsay??

THOUGHTS: THEY SPOIL YOU OR MAKE YOU!

Experience has taught me one thing:THINK POSITIVE!! After all the things our mind makes us do or not do, people still do not understand it's power. Almost all people are controlled by their mind. But what should actually be the natural course is that we should control our mind!
After all its our mind, isn't it?? If we cant control our own thoughts who can!
This poem by Walter D Wintle explains clearly what I am trying to convey:

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't,
If you like to win, but you think you can't
It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!

THINKING
-WALTER D WINTLE

You might be thinking why this sudden thought or inspiration to write about power of thoughts!!
Because I realized that I was allowing my mind to do lot of things on its own.I was actually spoiling it all this time...
I had my exams...so i had to study! But my mind told me its bored and doesn't want to study... so i ignored my books....!!
I had to do my daily quota of jogging but my mind told me I am tired... so I ignored my jogging shoes....!!
Then one fine day my mother told me this... you listened to your mind all this time... now make it listen to you!!
I tried it and it worked... IN EVERY CASE!!
Its difficult really... it seems easier to just keep listening to your mind...like an employee prefers doing only those things that his boss tells him to do... no action or creativity on his part...just so that he is free from the responsibility!!
But in doing this we loose the essence of us being human !
(not the Salman Khan Foundation :P)
So I thought, I am not bored and I would very well enjoy studying and I actually studied!!
Then I thought, I am not tired I can jog for miles and still not be tired... and I actually did not feel tired anymore....
I have one small experiment:
One day, when your mother leaves for work tell her, "Oh Mom, you look so fresh and beautiful. Seems you slept like a baby last night." Your Mom will hold this positive thought the whole day and when she returns home in the evening she will actually be fresh and glowing!!
After some days, while she is leaving tell her, "Mom, you look so tired! You are having dark circles! Didn't you sleep properly??"
She will carry this negative thought with her and by the end of the day she will be all haggard and irritated!!
Controlling your mind can be difficult, but once you do control it life will be very much simpler...
You will be able to do the most difficult or seemingly impossible tasks with ease! And all just because you believe you can!
Seems impossible?? Well think about it you have actually done it..
When you caught a train which had already picked up speed...When you successfully rode a bike for the first time....When you first started walking...you actually made your mind work for you when you were a baby!!! And then you grew up and you forgot!!

But better late then never... I have taken those baby steps towards making my mind work for me!!
Like I made this blog!! :)

THE FREE MELODY

Q: WHY "MAVERICK SYLLABLE"?
A: Maverick: Non- conformist, rebel, free thinker, undisciplined, unorthodox.
Syllable: A unit of organisation for a sequence of speech sounds.

Such opposite words!! One a free and undisciplined adjective and the other a strict rule for the position of sounds and vowels in a word. So I thought, why not bring them together? And it sounded great too!!

Syllabic writing began several hundred years before the first letters.
Maverick is a 1994 movie and "The Mavericks" is a country music band founded in 1989 in Miami, Florida, U.S.
One old and blue , the other fresh and new!

What happens when such syllables form maverick, rebellious, free, undisciplined words and such words culminate into a sentence which describe emotions, thoughts, needs, wants?
They are called lyrics, rhymes, poems, melodies.........music.

An interesting use of syllables is seen in  a HAIKU : A Japanese poetic form.
And there are rules to write a Haiku poem:
1. A Haiku must be exactly 3 lines.
2. First line should contain only 5 syllables.
Second line should contain only 7 syllables.
Third line should contain only 5 syllables.
3. A Haiku should not rhyme.(Source:howmanysyllables.com)

I know, too many rules! But they are real fun, because it needs you to really work your brain, to combine mathematics and grammer. Check out this one:

Each of my posts will be accompanied by such rhymes, lyrics, Haiku's, poems some written by stalwarts and  famous personalities and some by me. :D

"The glow of my comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.
"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
But, oh, the loss, if you missed what I'm doing in you.
"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,

My most precious answer of all is still . . . Wait."
